So I finally got the Clap...
Clapotis , that is!
There was this GORGEOUS sport-weight hand dyed merino at the shop (Claudia Handpainted Yarns) that was just begging to become this. It's not even in colors I would normally wear! I'm paying for it one skein at a time ($25 each), this will be a very expensive scarf, even though I'm making a smaller version (I plan to use 3..yikes).
It's knitting up Soooo beautiful though! and the pattern is fun! I can't imagine making the huge one though, I'm not really a wrap kinda girl.
The picture really does the colors no justice.
OH! ANd see those funny South Park looking things? Lindsay made them for us for xmas! here's a close-up! She's a stitch marker master :)
Also, I recently entered a piece in a contest for Mango Moon! I con't post pictures till I know if they like it or not yet though. The winner gets a trip to Bali to see where it's made!

Your Clapotis is going to be beautiful!! I'm such a Clap-whore :)
I love your Calorimetry too. I've been trying to find the perfect yarn to make myself one.
You can check out some of my recent knits at: http://friendsknittogether.blogspot.com/
Okay, I saw this whole spiel on the knitting lj community and I didn't believe you. I've always thought clapotis is ugly and I hate the way it curls..
BUT.
Yours so far is absolutely stunning. I love that yarn, and I must know where you got it from, and if they have a website, for all the lyses in my area are lame and I need to expand my stash online.
Fabulous! You may have convinced me to attempt it.
Gorgeous colors! (Followed the knitting community post to your blog here.)
I will someday also knit a Clapotis. I think it's a right of passage!
I LOVE those stitch markers, they're hilarious.
Good luck with Mango Moon!!
hey, just wanted to let you know that two people called the shop yesterday (one from minnesota and one from colorado) wanting to know if you're selling the dragon scarf pattern yet. one left her phone #/email address (the other one reads your blog). they're on the message pad.
Gorgeous yarn - I can't wait to see how it comes out! Miss you at knit nite - you need to come for a visit!
P.S. I learned to spin on a drop spindle!
